The waves of La Tomate

Our surf spot

Where the Atlantic carves its finest waves

Nestled near Cap Debouza, Ocean Cliff Ecolodge enjoys a wild stretch of coastline where the Atlantic shows its full power. Some fifteen kilometres south, the legendary spot of La Tomate unleashes powerful, hollow waves prized by seasoned surfers from across Morocco.

Powerful, hollow wave at La Tomate

The region's spot

La Tomate

Some fifteen kilometres south of the ecolodge, this renowned reef break unleashes powerful, hollow waves, ridden by accomplished surfers from all over Morocco. A must for anyone chasing an authentic thrill.

Further still, some fifty kilometres to the south, Le Tube in Safi is regarded as one of the longest waves in Africa — a day trip reserved for experienced surfers, which our team can arrange on request.

Surf & wellbeing

Surfing as therapy

Beyond the pure thrill of riding a wave, surfing strengthens the back and legs while improving endurance and posture. But its greatest benefits are felt on the mind : focused on reading the waves, the mind lets go of everything else, tension drains away and a natural sense of release sets in. Afterwards, our terraces, seawater pool and sunrise yoga sessions extend that pocket of calm — the perfect balance between adrenaline and slowness that defines the Ocean Cliff spirit.
